Work with government schools
Work began on this component with the Shiksha Samarthaks visiting the government schools and giving an introduction of the project and explaining the work plan to the respective Head Masters and school teachers. The 75 government schools were also categorised according to the clusters, information was also gathered on the schools like number of students, number of school teachers etc. Direct work with children of class 3rd was also started. Initially in the month of July, the work that was initiated in 54 government schools has now extended to 75 government schools. Every Shiksha Samarthak is working in 5 to 8 schools in a week. The Samarthak visits one school daily and works there according to a plan which he makes weekly. The day of the Samarthak begins when he reaches a school and starts cleaning the campus with the help of the students as cleaning, organizing, maintaining and decorating the school campus can contribute in developing a sense of ownership and pride in the children for their schools. |
